Ok...Here's what happened was recorded live at The Rathskeller in Indianapolis. The album provides a snapshot of an evening with Jennie DeVoe: knock-your-socks-off music combined with humor and personal stories for a night too remember.
Beginning with an introduction from Rathskeller owner Dan McMichael, the concert kicks off with DeVoe's original songs from albums spanning a decade. From there, cover songs as diverse as Mary Gauthier's "Mercy Now" and Led Zeppelin's "Black Dog" thrill the audience, as well as Lenny Kravitz' "Always On The Run."
As a special treat, the album also features the only recording available of DeVoe's original song, "Bluebird Day." Long a fan favorite at concerts, this powerful live version is memorialized here.
Wrapping up her stories, DeVoe ends with an uplifting rendition of Patty Griffin's "Up To The Mountain." This album is a must-have for any fan of DeVoe's live performances.
